Morning all

I'm running one of the above on my Oiz which has covered about 1500 miles.

I've noticed that when the back wheel is removed the mech has developed quite a bit of lateral play around the main bolt which attaches it to the bike. When riding I sometimes have to shift up or down out of the selected gear and then back again to get the chain seated correctly.

Are the two related?

If so would a new bolt, marked 1 in the diagram below, fix the problem?

Or is it the housing on the body of the mech which has started to wear out?

You have checks everything is tight (as in not loose) and nothing has unscrewed - mech/hanger/cassette/rear wheel?

AS above check the torx bolt that goes into hanger. I'd be surprised if its worn

Allen key to tight up where it is attached to the hanger
It does come a little loose, I have to check mine fairly regularly now

That was the exact problem! Cheers all, nice easy fix.

Sticky pivots
Worn pivots
Sticky/worn cable
Wheel on the back of the deraileur is worn/sticky
Jockey wheels worn

I'd fit a shimano M8100 or M9100 rear mech and you'll have a quieter*, more reliable bike.
*I'd also guess at the clutch on your mech being worn

That's my long term plan.

Any SRAM shifting issue, it's the first thing to check.

I've adjusted loads of other stuff before realising the bolt has come loose AGAIN.

Why? 1500 miles is not that much?

Threadlocker?

I'll put a dab of it on the bolt.

For a Sram mech, thats quite a bit. I was lucky to get 6months/500miles out of x01 clutch, the jockey wheels were toast after 3 months.

Wow, not sure how you managed that. Xo1 mech lasted me 5 years in Peak Grit. In fact the jockey wheels are still going strong on its replacement.
