Hi all
My front brake has started sticking. The pads have started to constantly clamping my rotor. The brake lever doesn’t feel the same to use as the rear lever either. The rear lever feels nice and smooth with a small amount of spring in it when I let go. The front feels like there’s no spring to it like it’s not releasing and it’s either on or off (but still clamping the pads a bit when off).
I’ve been reading stuff about worn pistons in the lever that can be rubbed down and how the symptoms get worse when it’s hot. I’m not very practical so not confident doing it myself.
Is it new levers time or is this a common fault a LBS would be aware of and could fix?
Cheers
I have a set of DB5's with one doing similar though not as bad as yours.
I will probably take it apart at some point as I am guessing it will be the piston in the lever as that seems a common problem.
If your not confident to do that a decent lbs will do it for you but make sure they fit the new updated piston that apparently solves this.
I'll just be filling my one down I think.
Hmmmmm. Just watched a YouTube video on it. Maybe I’ll give it a go.
Its todays job on my rear Guide RS. Been sticking in this hot weather as the bike has been sat outside the last week under a tarpaulin.
It’s the piston - just done mine.
Cheapest place by far is Bikeinn.
