Hi all
I run my cx bike as a commuter and winter road bike with 28c tyres and mudguards. My sram rival drivetrain is in need of replacing soon. My question is how versatile is cx1?? Would a 46 t front and 11-32 rear be almost as good as my compact 50/34 11-28 setup?
Just asking because if the compromise isn't great then it would be a good way to save some mass and simplify things.
Real world experiences glady received.
Thankyiu
I switched over from an Alfine 11 about six months ago. Compared to that it is a lightweight, slick, fast and just as silent dream.
In terms of application I am still running a 32t on the front, which helped me grind over honister the other day and is great off road, but I do miss the top end on the road. I'm not quite aero tucking on the flat, but you get the picture.
Not CX1, but I use a 40t single ring with 11-28 for commuting & 11-32 for proper off road.
Would spin out in v fast downhills, if there were any, but fine on undulations - nice spread of gears.
