Can I use an 11 speed X01 derailleur with a GX 11 speed shifter. I need to replace a bent GX derailleur ob a limited budget for a friend.

All the SRAM 11sp MTB stuff is cross compatible.

Puzzled why an X01 RD might be a budget replacement for GX though as it’s usually around twice the price. Is it SH or is there a PSA due? 😉

Struggling to find a s/h replacement GX and saw the X01 on ebay, also widens the search a bit. He needs his bike sorted and I need my riding partner! 😉

NX is a budget option for a replacement. Works the same but heavier steel cage and bushed jockey wheels.

Pay careful attention to an eBay X01. I bought one cheaply a while ago that had the snapped B bolt, thinking it could be a bargain fixer upper. Firstly I was surprised that ‘type 2.0’ X01 actually did exist (I though type 2.0 clutches had died out in ten speed land) and second, while the B bolt kit fitted easily enough, that mech has never been as spot on for indexing as my other SRAM mechs, which makes me think it’s either worn or took alignment damage when the B bolt snapped that I can’t see.

If you just want a fast and cheap solution, the unsexier NX mech bought new may be a better fix as at least it will definitely work out of the box rather than possibly having hidden damage.
