Bleeding my brakes for an upcoming trip.

On my front brake the bleeding edge port on the caliper is rounded off and I can’t open it.

No problem, I’ve got a spare caliper from another set.

However on that one, I can’t get the port to close, it just keeps on turning round.

Are there any fixes, or is it new brake time?

Can you undo the bleeding edge port completely on caliper 2 so you can remove it? Check if the thread is damaged.

If the thread is okay they tap in an oversized torx bit into the bleeding edge port on caliper 1, use a bit of leverage and undo it.

Assuming the thread is okay in caliper 1 then screw in the bleeding edge port from caliper 2.

Otherwise buy a new caliper.

Edit: They only need nipping up so don't go mad when tightening them.

Have you tried a Torx bit of a slightly larger size? You may be able to gently tap it in to give you enough purchase to open it.
