so i took the mtb out for the first time in a year and now i need a new chain as mine broke. i have a couple of bikes one with XX1 and one with X0, both bikes are only 2-3 years old. so why is it that nobody seems to have sram chains in stock....is this old technology and the bike industry screwing people over to buy new bikes or something else?
cant say I'm too happy as both bikes were expensive. I'm sure ill get a chain but it just seems weird that i cant easily get spares for a 2 year old bike.
Just buy a kmc chain then, I've never had issues with them.
There's nothing particularly special about sram chains.
It’s just you , smiles . But any 11 speed chain will be just fine.
If your struggling online all I can guess is it’s down to the big retailers chooseing not to buy them
You don’t need xx1 and XO chains to replace what you have unless you “really” need to. My Nomad came with an xx1 but now I just chuck on a PC1110 11speed @£10 a pop. Change @ .5 to keep the cassette and chainring running sweet

Starting from 11 Euros, up to 30 Euros.
Personally bike Deore 2x10 (around 12 Euros) - no idea about the SRAM chains.
This time of the year: some stuff is "sold out". Had a similar problem last year with an Shimano chainring...
