Went to fit some Code Rs to the Slayer today.
As I took the shifter off the Shimano bracket I was met with this

https://flic.kr/p/2o8chkj

https://flic.kr/p/2o89D9s

No matter what configuration of bracket I try I can't get this to work together.
It's like the lip on the SRAM bracket is slightly too big and the funny spacer thing that Shimano use doesn't match anything I can find.

So, inspire me guys. Please

MM to I Spec EV adaptor is what you need.
Or cheaper solution.

Ah, thank you.

I went to that and tried again, still failed, then again, failed.

Then tried without attaching the brake and it works lovely yes. Super, thanks.

But I can't run brake and shifter on the SRAM clamp. But yeah if I split them it's all good.

Sadly I don't have another bloody MMX clamp spare so can't do the rear tonight which is somewhat of a shame.
But I'll get one ordered. Or if easier find an MM to I Spec EV adaptor.

@weeksy did you find the right adapter? I seem to be able to find something to run a SRAM shifter on a Shimano clamp but I think I’ll need to run a Shimano shifter on a SRAM Brake clamp - I’m struggling to find the right thing.

If you want to mount an I spec ev shifter to a sram brake clamp you need this.
https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/products/shiftmount?variant=39283073318947

If you want to mount it separately just use a sram clamp and the I spec ev nut.

Yeah that's the one I linked.

I'm torn as to which way to do it

I'm also torn as to whether I'll try it anyway. It was more a little 'experiment' as I really liked the feel when trying a bike to set up suspension for my lads mate. But then it started getting more complex and my interest faded a bit.

Your link shows the wrong picture.
Just showing what it looks like to avoid any confusion for anyone that's looking.

I was going the opposite way
Ended up buying bar clamps as I prefer to have some more adjustment to the shifters/dropper lever
Found the levers were to close to my thumbs

Great cheers 👍

Turns out the bike comes with separate clamps anyway so no urgency to sort it but I’ll do it at some point as I like the tidy Single clamp thing 🙂

TWENTYEIGHT QUID!

I don’t think I’d noticed / processed the price 😳🤣

I can get a whole shifter for that (infact I’ve got a spare) - does a SRAM Eagle shifter work with Shimano 12 speed?

No you need a adjuster screw for that - only £42 from Wolf tooth 😀

It really is crap that it’s not one standard and you have to get mount adapters to make things fit! I’m running Shimano brakes with sram shifter and had the same issue…. Pretty sure I asked for help on here too 🤣

Bikeyoke do one the other way round which fits a Shimano brake and a SRAM shifter.
Don't think it works the other way round

Blame Shimano, they change their standard every couple of years because they only think of customers buying their current products. SRAM have pretty much kept the same standard since they started.

Just use separate clamps, it's ever so slightly more untidy, but much simpler if you like to chop and change things

Have been running a 12spd SLX mech with an NX Eagle mech for 2 years without problem
