Wanting to swap brakes between two bikes. Front all easy as hoses are pretty much the same length. Rear on both bikes are internal routed with one going through the stays as well the frame. Would be a complete ballache to do. One set are Guides and the other are new version Codes. Fittings at the lever end look the same, and both have banjo fittings at the calliper end. Will it be as simple as swapping levers and callipers leaving the hose and fittings in place, followed by a bleed?

Yes. Both use connectamajigs and banjo fittings. In theory you’re meant to retrim and fit new connectamajigs at the lever end whenever you swap levers, but they seem to work fine without needing that when I’ve done it.

Cheers, that’s what I was hoping to hear. Loads of the old style barbs and olives if they do need a re trim.
I remember the nightmare of fitting the guides to the Merida and anything is worth avoiding going through that again.

Not sure what new version Codes are, but if they are the ones that have been out for the last few years then, don't think so

It has been a couple of years since I tried but from memory the Guides can use the Codes hose but the Codes can't use the Guides hose.

It's the banjo fitting that is the issue.

You would have to put new olives on the lever end of the hose if you wanted to swap over the rubber lever end cover things.

Codes and Guides use a different banjo at the caliper. One is silver and one is black I think.

The lever fitting is the same but the little rubber cover is different on each.

Apologies, I thought the Banjos were the same.
