Come to replace the bottom bracket on the girlfriends little used 2020 Fluid Ht1, drive side came off no problem but left non drive side is stuck solid , ok I've been using a crap tool and I've checked 10 times I'm undoing the right way (left) but no luck , anyway on checking under the bike the left hand cup is marked up the same as the right with an arrow and an R on it....What has gone on and has someone put a wrong cup on the left side and how do i shift it...
Is this a frame knackered job.....its a SRAM dub bottom bracket...

Hang on. Didn't we have a thread last week where someone found that on of his BB cups was marked up incorrectly?
And there is no "left" when screwing something. It's either clockwise or anti-clockwise.
thanks, yeah left was fewer key presses , anti clockwise it is , hopefully it is just marked up wrong , could there be a chance it been put in on wrong thread or would the frame not allow that....
I can’t see how you’d get a cup screwed into a frame if it was threaded the wrong way.
I’d soak the frame from the outside and the inside in release oil / plus gas - give it several liberal coats and leave it overnight. Then use a big lever and you should manage to shift it then.
Cant help on your arrow markings.

@mert - I guess so. I always screw something gently the wrong way until the thread drops in then screw it the correct way. Makes it less likely to cross thread 🤷♂️

Aye that was me, currently winging it's way back for a replacement. Mine was marked up as Left,but threaded for the right. Luckily I realised when it wouldn't catch. This was quite a posh wheels manufacturing BB for SRAM cranks.
If its an metal frame, as well as a penetrating oil (diesel is great at this) i would have a kettle of boiling water to pour over the BB shell immediately prior to my attempt
Right some developments , got a decent tool and some leverage and it started to turn but now it's just spinning and not coming out of the frame , I'm hoping that with them being plastic cups the frame thread may be ok underneath, any ideas ?
Also if I can get it out is there a better replacement than a standard SRAM dub

Sram dub bbq cups aren’t plastic as far as I’m aware - they’re metal.
I replaced my dub bb with a wheels manufacturing one. Quite a lot more expensive so hoping it lasts but it’s only been in there a few months so far. Also it needed an expensive tool to screw the cups in/ out as it has a wider outer diameter 🙈

Piece of broom handle from the other side and a hammer, or a bearing puller.
If it's a plastic cup, you'll be fine, it'll be the cup threads that are dead, extremely unlikely to damage frame threads. clean them out once the bottom bracket is out.
Also if I can get it out is there a better replacement than a standard SRAM dub
Many many better alternatives, just depends on your budget!

I've actually genuinely seen someone use a windy to start the thread on a bottom bracket (in a shop). Then run it all the way in. Thankfully not too much actual torque as the line pressure wasn't that high.

Yup, never heard of plastic DUB (or GXP) cups
Angle grinder and Dremel got my seized DUB BB off.
Had to be very careful, but steel frame helped.

You would be surprised, I have seen pedals and BB cups fully screwed in the wrong side.

If it is an Ally cup, you'll have to be a lot more circumspect about pulling it out though. No broom handles!
Ok so maybe they aren't plastic cups so that's not too good, bike is at bike shop and he's going to remove the cup and see what damage we have, he seems to think threads in frame are most likely to have gone and his possible solution if that's the case is, replace with a new deore crankset and use what he called a repair bottom bracket..
Do this sound feasible or are there other options if frame thread has gone....
Anyone think it's worth an email to norco to complain about the two right marked cups, I probably know that it's pointless but it's a bit naughty if it was done at factory and I'm pretty sure it's not been done since purchase....
