Really daft question but does anyone know it you need to remove the battery from SRAM AXS if transporting in the car?

I’d assume the system would wake up while being driven.

Anyone know?

Not 100% sure about the new AXS stuff but I was always told to do that with the 1st gen eTap stuff.

If the battery is attached then even asleep it is draining some power (must to to know to waken up).
Remove battery from mech/post and attach before ride starts and when it ends.

I remove them, as the bikes are rarely still the whole way (not in a rack).

Haven’t tried leaving them in for journeys tbf but the bikes are stored with them fitted. Not had a problem yet. Will see what the battery level is now it’s been sat for a couple of weeks

eTap stops working if the bike is horizontal. But I always take out the batteries for peace of mind.

Huh. Just checked the batteries, mech is still full but reverb is pretty low. Bike stored vertically by the front wheel.

I don’t bother removing either battery. Been using for a couple of months and batteries seem to be holding up ok - not full but I reckon another couple of months before I need to worry, though I guess when it gets colder they’ll run down faster.
