I've got an NX mech on my Status, which changes gear fine and dandy, but the upper jockey wheel is the bushing type and sluggish when you rotate with chain off. Bottom spins nicer for sure.
So, can I fit other better jockey wheels?
If not, what 12sp SRAM mech has bearing based jockey wheels?
GX has bearings - they aren’t necessarily a good thing. I periodically press them out and out new ones in to keep it spinning. In 11 speed times the nx bushing jockeys were a more durable option
Acey. Bought. Thanks
Recently fitted Hopes to a GX AXS after 3 lads I know had the upper wheel disintegrate on sram 12spd mechs (1 gx axs, 1 gx and 1 xx1) in the last year, bolt and bearing still there but no plastic wheel for all 3 of them. I won't be fitting any sram own brand 12 spd jockey wheels in future. The Hope's aren't cheap and don't noticably improve shifting but I'm confident they won't disintegrate
Good luck with the new jockey wheels. 👍🏻
I'm trying to achieve the opposite, have found the SRAM GX jockey wheels to regularly seize in wet conditions, and the Nukeproof ones have seized very quickly and have destroyed their seals in the process. Had hoped to fit the NX bushing version but the fitting on the top wheel is slightly different and doesn't fit.
I'm trying to workout which fails more often the SRAM jockey wheels or the DUB bottom bracket. 😃
Out of interest, I have GRX 12 speed - i think the wheels are 11 and 13t - is there a Hope set? Ive not found any...
had GX jockey bearings seized straight from the packet on two occasions now.
Stocked-up on Nukeproof version - they are much better, unfortunately no longer in stock...
I don't even know if the drag on the stand actually relates to drag on the trails/pedalling..
But when you spin the jockey it's just quite draggy... So i'm curious to see if they can help.
BBB also seem to do Jockeys as do Superstar components. But i ordered a pair of Nukeproof from CRC to try.
