Hi, I have a Sram 10 speed cassette and x9 hub. Any ideas if that will take a new 11speed or do I need to swap out the freehub too?

Cheers

It will take an 11 speed cassette, as long as its Shimano HG fitment (as opposed to SRAM XD)

Per Tom’s comment avoid gx 11 speed cassettes or higher as they’re XD fitment.

I’d consider trying the Sunrace 11-46 cassette for hg freehub bodies (what you’ll have) with gx 11 speed mech and shifter. Mid range chain less prone to surface rust - I’ve always got on well with the Sram X1 chain - usually paid around £25 for it I think.

Your existing cranks if a triple should be fine to add a NW ring to. If a double it’s less likely to give an acceptable chainline.

I’ve always preferred Sram to Shimano 11 speed - although the new deore 11 speed is really quite cheap. You could get that and use the same Sunrace cassette above or I think it’ll stretch to an 11-51 cassette in 11 speed of you can find one.
