Sram 10 speed cassette on an alloy hope pro 2 hub, the last sprocket sits a good few mm proud of the end of the hub. The locking only has 3 threads on it anyway, and only just catches, then when we torque it up, it pops out of the threads (mildly stripping them). Is this me or is there an issue here?
Make sure the cassette is definitely sitting all the way on. the burs on a used hope freehub can make it seem like it is when it isnt. Also check all spacers and cogs are in the correct order.
Done all that.
Thanks tomd, it has, but its not touching the back of the cassette, the cassette is grounding on the base of the free hub properly.
No idea then! Probably worth finding an Shimano lockring and giving that a shot. I guess your LBS will have a a few around from changing drivechains.
Can you measure the width of the cassette? Just checked 9 & 10 speed Shimano @ 36.7mm (approx)
shimano locking from xtr is the same length, only three teeth, seems a bit crazy...
Its all about the cassette spacing, its just too long.
`trevor, will do that now cheers
