I popped the air can of my X2 last week to add back an air volume spacer I'd removed.
Riding yesterday it's sounding 'squelchy'. I pretty sure that previously it was silent. A bit of googling suggests this might be damping circuit seal failure?
Any advice - heading to Spain with Basque MTB on Friday so not really time to get it warrantied (and it's only a couple of months old
Could be oil squelching between the 2 air chambers but IMHO its more than likely the damper has failed.
Mines doing it too, I've tried adding air to the piggyback to no avail so off to South Coast Suspension it'll be going (after I properly break it on Dartmoor next week, bloody timing.....)
This is why I'd always send my forks and shock off for a service a month before I leave to go on a riding holiday.
Don't avalanche add a heavy duty IFP to the X2 series of dampers because of this?

The shock's only been on the bike about 2 months...
Did you buy it from Mojo or TF Tuned?
Or did it come with the bike - or from an online reseller?
Again, with the latter two cases - I'd still send both the fork and shock in for a service.
You've just about got time to get it serviced. Also, it wouldn't be the first time Chris At mojo would have sent stuff out to Basquemtb at high speed.
It's unlikely anything but a proper service is going to cure it and it would be a shame to spoil the back country trip with a knackered shock.
Yup give Mojo a call and tell them your situation.
Plus, even if it came with a bike, mojo do the warranty work.
The fact that you can't even do an air can service on an X2 a home is what puts me off an otherwise fantastic shock.
The tools alone appear to cost over £400

Last few we have see have all dumpedl the damper oil into the aircan, including 2 2018 ones that had been on the bikes for 3 days!

Tom, it's a good idea but manufacturer advises against coil shocks for my frame.

It has a boost valve, so you can make them nice and progressive. Would that work for your frame? Sure - it's not a twin tube damper, but it is the single most reliable shock there is. Wonder if you can pick them up unused still?
Also, havn't PUSH (if you can stomach the cost) tuned the 11-6 for some regressive bikes?
