I have new frame with a deluxe rt3 shock, after riding it 3 times this weekend the shock makes a loud squeeking noise when compressed. IT is once the shock is rebounding that the noise comes. I can only think the wiper seal is really dry, and will probably give it an air can service, but this is poor if its the case on a brand new shock.
Has anyone else had similar issues or suggestions of anything else it might be?
Thanks
New frame and shock might have been sitting around in a warehouse for ages and Rockshox are a bit stingy on the oil. Worth doing a check on the air can, and while you're at it, check the bushings. New they shouldn't be worn, but again sat around, and if been in a dusty environment they can get creaky. Just wipe clean and refit. Often fixes creaky shock in my experience.
If none of that, then definite fault. Warranty fix.
yeah, thats what i thought, Ive heard rockshox stuff can come with practically no oil in. Just a bit poor for a brand new shock that was only delivered to the manufacturer last week.
