I need a new bottom bracket for the road bike. Looking at a Campag Veloce but I see there is an English thread option and Italian. What's the difference?

The type of threads, english has both a left and a right hand thread whereas italian has rights(or lefts maybe). You'll need to look at the BB removed or your bb shell.
'Italian' BBs are 70mm wide and use RH thread on both the DS and NDS (unlike english, which uses LH thread on the LHS to prevent self unscrewing).

OP generally only Italian frames have Italian BBs.
