I want to get a square taper chainset for my new touring bike build. Are there any tidy reasonably priced options?
Middleburn is the only option. You can't have it both ways - cheap and good - rarely anyway 😉

Funnily enough, I reckon those Stronglight/Spa cranks are probably the best example of 'cheap & good' you can get!

Specialite TA still do square taper. And their chainrings are excellent.
I would go for Stronglight cranks with TA chainrings.
