73mm bottom bracket shell
ISCG mount on frame
Shimano Deore square taper chainset
A 113mm axle smallest ring fouls ISCG mount
any idea how long an axle I need? 118 or 122.5

Anyone?
If I just get a 122.5 the longest available, will this push the chainline out too far from the front mech and gears to work well?

118 will give you an extra 2.5mm clearance - if that's enough then go with that you don't want to push the chainline too far out if you can help it.

One more thing to check first.

Check the BB is a JIS taper (Shimano BB is defo JIS) and not an ISO (Campy) BB. Tapers are different and the Deore crankarm would fit closer to the centreline with an ISO BB by up to 5mm.

As ww... said, try not to move the chainline too far outboard or the front mech (if fitted) may not reach, and your sprockets will be badly aligned.

As wwaswas says. But then another 2mm further out with 122.5 isn't going to do too much damage either.

It is a Shimano BB
Guess it's best go for 122.5 and hope gears work OK

I've got a Shimano trekking triple and that needs 123 for a 50mm chainline, 118 for 47.5 and 113 for 45mm.
