Morning folks
I’m looking for a new saddle and been circling around an SQ-lab 611 or 612 for cross country / single track type riding. Wondering whether the “active” saddle is worth looking at or I should go for a straight fixed saddle
Anyone have any experience of these saddles?

I tried a number of the 612 active for turbo sessions last winter.
Really wanted to love it but found the sizing weird and the fit almost impossible to achieve a sweet spot that was wide enough for my sit bones without rubbing top of my inside thigh. Frustratingly the flat shape & 'shelf' felt good when occasionally getting the position just right.
In the end got rid at 3rd attempt after noticing abrasion to my shorts where the square-ish corners of the wave/shelf 'corners' met. Went through a whole load of correspondence with SQLab and sent tons of pictures etc. to be told it must just be me, nothing they could do. Sold on ebay and concluded that there's more gimmickry and marketing guff around these than actual science or benefit. Now happily on a Spesh Power Expert.
Hi,
I've got an active 611 on my full sus, and a fixed 611 on my hardtail. Not sure I can really tell the difference to be honest, but they certainly suit me in terms of comfort. So much so that I was going to get another one for my turbo trainer bike, but the price seems to have shot up, so I'm putting up with the ergon one for that, which is fine for no longer than 45mins!
Not sure if that helps or not, sorry.
After the mk1 Burgtec the cloud the 611 is the most uncomfortable saddle I have used
611 here - i like it, find it comfy!
