Is it just me or do the online spring calculators sound a bit light? Im 12stone.4 full kitted up and I've always used a 450 or 400 for downhill but checking online it reckons I need a 350, anyone else found similar and tried lighter?

They vary from company to company, what is the stroke of the shock and rear wheel travel, and model of shock?

LoCo probably knows more than me but it depends on the damper as well as the bike, if its more compression damping and less rebound damping it will need a softer spring, this was the trend in motorcross for a very long while (softest spring you could get away with and as much damping as possible to keep the bike level once it gets moving accross rough ground).

350 lbs/in would be the ideal weight for you, giving the correct sag.
Other setting suggestions from experience with these shocks are:
Bottom out fully open ( full out)
150psi in boost chamber (on the piggy back)
Hope this helps, any further queries you can mail me in my profile.
