Some paint dissolves polystyrene, which is I think why it's mostly considered a big no no. I hope you've researched this.

The paint is advertised as for bike/car plastic parts etc, so I’m hoping it’s ok.

It’s a spare helmet, and I’m willing to give it a go. I asked on here, I think, a while back, and it seemed to be quite popular.

Id mask it off and also do some test spays on either an old helmet or some packaging etc.....
