SO I treated myself to a nice new Tacx Neo 2t (which..stealth ad..means my Elite Novo Wheel on trainer, WITH wheel and riser block, is up for sale!!)..
It's great, but the cadence readings were all over the place. A bit of googling suggests the sensor that detects the crank waving past is on the non-drive side, and requires the crank to ACTUALLY go past the sensor area...
The sensor is near the text here... My crank (likely as a 172.5 crank, on a fairly long chainstay Tripster..) is nowhere near that!

So, the solution is a metal 'bar thing' that Tacx will send you if you raise an issue. I've done this (shouldn't REALLY need to do that on a £1200 bit of kit, but hey ho..)
Of course, this being STW, we really know that a spoon will fix all...

And with a bit of saw action, and a sticky strip..

Seems to work perfectly now!!
Spoons FTW..

Nice spoon work. I've just resurrected a Neo OG that I got from FB for £50, Tacx had written it off but all it needed was a new internal power cable tickle.
As a long term Neo user I would be interested in your initial opinions.
I lost 50w when I went from an Elite Direto to Neo two years ago.
Nice fix 👍
Don't invite WCA around to try that hack! 😆
I'm sad that you had to behead the spoon 🙁
It wasn't a spoon.
To be fair Al, that's no longer a spoon. A young pretender, but your 'this is NOT a spoon' crown is intact 😉
Should have used a knife and gone a bit post brexit Boudica on your turbo
