Am selling I nice set of wheels (mavic / yeah I know they are in receivership). Been offered a decent price for front only
I’m thinking it’s a bad idea to split but maybe it’s okay? Thoughts??
Depend on the spec and fit etc, but rear wheels are usually sort after for trainers.
If they are a properly matched set then no. Unless the offer is rear wheel money for the front (meaning you could sell the rear cheap and have at least what you wanted for the set). If it's a mixed 'set' then yes probably split it.
Yeah, don't split if its a matched set (hubs and rims) unless it's a very generous offer.
On a similar note, I'm trying to sell a set of Shimano square taper crank arms on eBay at the moment for an - I think - perfectly reasonable £11.99 including postage. Someone messaged me the other day offering £5 incl. postage for the left arm only.
I responded with "don't be daft" and blacklisted them 😀
Split wheels you'll get more £££
You'll only make money if demand is there, if not, sell the pair!
I did split a pair recently when someone offered me more for the rear than I paid for the pair, then it took me ages to sell the front.
But I did, in the end.
I'd split if given the chance.
The back will definitely sell as these take the most punishment so are usually in more demand. If someone is offering to buy the front, go for it. You'll not have trouble shifting the rear.
I replace a lot more rear wheels than fronts at work.
If the buyer want the front that bad tell him to buy the pair and then he can sell the rear
