Tis now languishing in the garage having been ridden once so far this year . So the dilemma is this . One ride a month and one foreign trip a year worth hanging on to ? Been looking at alternatives that would probably get ridden more .Either a Trance 29er (quite similar) or quite different a Boardman F/S ? Thing is would the 2nd option be up to Moab etc ? The other thing that eats away is I rode Whistler,Morzine,Tahoe etc on a Hummer so maybe my Kona Raijin (Ti 29er H/T) would cope with foreign trips ?Spicy has already more than paid for itself and with the upgrades I've done I'd be reluctant to let it go for a stoopid cheap price ! Decisions decisions ! 🙄
Thing is I don't reckon the Trance would be much lighter / easier on all day rides anyway ?

My big fs hasn't been ridden since September, not gonna get rid tho, tis my summer toy. Going to get a lighter, shorter travel one for longer/less gnar-core rides. Probably an anthem or trance

Remember, n+1.

I'm lucky if I get one ride a month on the mtb!

Depends what else and how often you ride without it?

Snap. Have the same problem. 2009 Spicy used once or twice a year, out gunned on the climbs and no gainable advantage on the descents.

This is nuts, isn't it...

Holy Grail innit. No bike is going to do everything....get 2 or get fitter and ride one. That is my plan anyway, can't afford 2!

No different to folks who have a snowboard/skis sat in the garage for their once a year winter holiday. You'll lose big money on it if you sell so just hang it up for big days then buy the daily bike as a separate entity. Sat there its not costing money but if you sell it it costs lots. Besides which it's a buyers market currently; I've given up trying to sell my Nicolai as it pains me to throw so much away when even if it gets used only once a year I still have a quality bike that makes me smile (can't sell a mint frame that retails at @ £1900 without shock for a measly £500, & is still covered by 2 years transferable warranty - not a great time to sell).

Spicy has already more than paid for itself and with the upgrades I've done I'd be reluctant to let it go for a stoopid cheap price !

If you won't let it go stoopid cheap you'll probably end up keeping it by default.

i would keep it too, i have only ridden mine about 3 times since september last year (cube ams 130 cost about 1800 quid), but i would lose a fortune if i sold.
makes me smile every time i ride it though, so i may as well keep it.

Put mine on eBay tonight. 3 bikes that I might use once or twice a year. Bloody 29ers
