You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I have a 2023 Levo and have just attempted to charge the battery for only the third time. It gets to being 80% full but no more. Is the battery cream crackered, or could it be something else? (Been on charge overnight).
I plan to ring the LBS later today but thought I'd check if anyone here could offer any ideas first. I know early versions of the Levo had battery issues but had hoped that had been sorted on the more recent version.
This might be too obvious: but there is a setting in the Specialized app that limits charging to 80%. I think its called 'battery protect' or something. The bike needs to be turned on and the phone needs to be connected to the bike via bluetooth to see the setting.
Worth checking this first.
Think its exactly what Kneed said. Battery protect charges to 80% then a full 100% on the 5th or 10th charge....
Pair your bike with the Spesh app and you can turn this off or on as your whimsy takes you.
It's now up to 84% after another 4 hours of charging.
Thanks everyone for your help.
So is this sorted? Was it inlocked by the app?
Ian
Not sorted to my satisfaction! It's unlocked as per kneeds/Tracey/rickmeister suggestion above and the battery is increasing in charge by approximately 1% per hour so now at 85%. I'm planning a long ride tomorrow so would ideally like 100% battery....
It doesn't sound like it's charging like any off ours do. Probably time to get it checked out.
What size battery is it. I've done loads of big rides with mine when I've set off with less than 85%
Its a 700w battery. I rode on Monday when it was at 100% and did 35 miles/4000ft climbing and finished with 30% battery left. I then charged it overnight and when I unplugged the charger the battery was at 79%. A further overnight charge and its now at 85%. The bike has been ridden less than a 100 miles in total and this is only the third time it will have been on charge. Doesn't seem right to me.
It takes a few charges to condition the battery when new. Also the 80% charge limit in the app doesn’t work reliably and so isn’t worth enabling. Specialized are aware but have no timeline for a fix.
