I'm looking for one of these, either a s/h better one or a new 2016 Comp.

I've read lots of reviews of the 2016 model which are very complementary but they all mention that it's not as good as the old one, "not as poppy" one review said.

Do you know what changes they made and should I try and find a 2015 one or go for 2016?

Ta very much

Don't go on reviews, some of the rubbish the bike press write in them is hysterical. Try and get yourself a test ride at an lbs or demo day.

2015 had Camber and Camber Evo. Main thing that stood out in geometry terms were long chanstays, just like the Stumpy of the same vintage. 2016 they dropped the Evo, but (I think!) the Camber is effectively an Evo version, but now has much shorter chainstays. No idea why the pop would be any different though.

Shorter chainstay, longer reach, better fork (revelation instead of reba), different tyres... I think that's it. It shares the same front triangle as the stumpy and has apparently gained some weight.

I have the 2014 and will shortly be getting my hands on a 2016 carbon model, so I'm looking forward to seeing how different it is.

Thanks folks, sounds like it's to do with the chainstays.

I'll see what deals I can find

Wider rims for 2016 and slacker head angle as well .

I think there is a 2015 evo in my local shop. Pearce cycles in Ludlow. As stated above the chainstays on the stumpy and camber were quite long which I absolutely loved on my stumpjumper. Not sure that would make it feel poppy but it did give plenty of grip on the front wheel.

My friend got the 27.5 camber carbon with revelation fork and 1x11 spam and it's a nice looking and quality ride, he's been smashing the strava times on it, he,s well chuffed with it

Yep the 2016 is essentially evo from 2015. It's a great bike I love mine! Same as said above smashing all my strava records on it. I've got the 29er, rode cyb yesterday first time in the tarw trail, that was a bit hairy at times but the bike lapped it up.

The biggest issue from reading reviews is that nothing really changed its the same bike as the 2015 and looking at the 2017 model they have left it alone again.

Thanks all, there are plenty of 2016's out there for £1500 so that's what I'm looking at now, my lbs has one in so I'll go and have a sit to start with.

Other negatives in the reviews are the flexi wheels and the Rev forks. I'm not too bothered about the wheels but how do people rate the Revs? I've had some 26's a while ago which were great but I have Pikes on my other bike so the bar is pretty high.. Also they come as 120mm, is it just a cartridge swap to take them up to 140mm?

Ta

The stock revs have been outstanding, was a bit unsure and was thinking of getting some pikes but now I've ridden them in they have performed better than the reba's I've pretty much always used. Set them up a year ago and haven't touched them since, the first ride out they weren't quite right but after ignoring the air pressure settings I've found the sweet spot and haven't touched them since. I haven't noticed them flexi in anyway but this is potentially the best bike I've had in my bike history.

Trek 6500 (2006), Trek Fuel Ex7(2008), Orange P7 (2012), Camber expert 2012 and now the Camber Comp 2016.

I used to have the Camber Expert from 2012 the last of the 26ers and this was the replacement bike, its been faultless and a laugh to ride at times.
