You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
A colleague's partner is looking at these. Any views on the SL 1.1 motor or the bike more generally? He's an older chap who will use it around lanes and cycle tracks so an old rail track is as lumpy as it's going to get. Likely will be bought from a local spesh dealer so hopefully the support should be there.
Is it this style below?, if so then they're brilliant and very tunable for power delivery in all modes. I bought my mum this step through last year as she's late 60's and found it hard to keep up with her mate on her giant e-bike. Think she's done close to 2500 miles since last august and she loves it, longest day out has been 65 miles with pub lunch stop to charge back up, she only uses the motor on hills/long drags etc and as the bike is really light there is no issue with excess weight, the motor decouples completely when not used. Got her a top box for the rack and she fits a flask, jacket (charger if necessary) and her toolkit and off she goes all round galloway.
Cheers Somafunk. It's basically what you linked but the men's I guess. this:

Yeah that’s it, same price as well. At that price they’re a bargain (relatively speaking)
The only change I’ve made is to fit a 3t carbon bar to reduce the road chatter,
Cracking, thanks.
These look great! Considering one for the C2W scheme.
Spotted this in the description..
Specialized SL 1.1 custom lightweight motor, peak 240W / 35Nm, 2x you rider amplification (180% assistance), assist up to 28mph.
That's not right, is it? I thought ebikes are legislated to only assist to 15.5mph.
That’s copied from the US site I expect. UK version will be limited to 15.5 mph.
I test rode one before ultimately buying a Creo. It’s an excellent bike.
I bought one on the cycle to work scheme and it has been awesome,
the only thing I would change is buy the version with the tubeless tyres and remember to take an Allen key as you’ll need it to take the wheel off
Highly recommended by Mrs SSS
Shes on her second one. First one was a secondhand (8 month) stepthrough model in Lime Green. Had for a year then sold and got a new non stepthrough type in Graphite Grey. Had the new one a year past April.
In fact the buyer of the Lime Green one contacted her last week asking where she got hers serviced (Pedal Power in West Calder). They have had no issues with it. Its asking for a firmware update in the App for them.
Tuneable power settings, quite quick charging. She has the extender battery, takes it to 150% available battery.
Zero problems with first one and zero problems with the new one. Spesh dealer great too for firmware updates (one done on first, and one on the new one)
