I'm going with my son, my mate and his son. Really looking forward to it as I've never visited the Lakes before and it's been somewhere I've always wanted to go. What Specialized have laid on for £10 is bloody amazing.

Rich, me and the Mrs will be there with the little one. Are you camping out or going home?

Hoping to be there on Friday evening in time to get some coaching or demo bike spots.

BTW if anyone finds a golden ticket in their goodie bag, it's actually mine and I'd appreciate it back 🙂

Camping sold out. Can you visit for the day, can't see it mentioned on the website?

I think they closed off the registration earlier in the week.

Might be worth asking on here if you can visit on the day

BTW i think the women's coaching you register each morning, so it's not too much of an issue if you don't get there Friday. I get the impression there isn't anything happening Friday and it's just so people can camp overnight before it kicks off Saturday morning and the demo bikes it sounds like you just get in the queue and wait your turn.

I haven't spotted anyone I know yet.. We're in the red van with the prayer flags, middle of the field. Say hi if we're around.

Tested a Stumpy this morning. Very nice   probably needed to be on a L though, which is surprising.

I'd be untreated to hear how the alloy stumpy is compared to the carbon

We had such a great time. I really did not want to get up to come into work this morning.

The campsite was brilliant, the atmosphere superb, the pros and people from Specialized were all such nice people and the weather was fantastic which made it an almost perfect weekend. The only downside for me was getting beasted by my son up the road to Moor tap with him on a Levo ebike and me on the Capra. The grin on his face when I finally got to the top, having nearly passed out just trying to keep him in sight, was a mix of joy at seeing how much fun he was having and disgust that it was at my expense 😀

One of the highlights for me was watching Kris Kyle on the pump track doing tricks off the berms. That guy is insanely talented. Martin Soderstrom bunny hopping a wall at the visitor centre was great too. I guess you don't get one of those Red Bull helmets unless you're a bit good.

Did any of you ride the new Stumpjumper. I wanted to try the ST version but they didn't have one in Large, so took the standard version out. It was a really nice ride actually, felt a lot closer to the capra on the descents than my old Stumpjumper does. Going to see if I can get a local demo on the ST.

Rich - no, I was fiddling with my glasses having just come through the gate at SD 30714 92608

I planned to ride around and back up Bletherbarrow Ln from Nibthwaite but I missed the turning, thought I'd head around the long way past Hill Park Farm bu then lost the bridleway in the forestry roads.

should have turned around and ridden back up.

Muggo- I rode the Stumpjumper Comp (carbon, 150 mm travel, SLX kit) and it was nice. I didn't notice the reduction in travel from my Pivot and the suspension was very respectable. Certainly the Fox 34's (Rhythm model??) was much improved over my early Fit 34's.

The tyres were poor though, incredibly slippery on the roots of the off-piste tracks I took it on. Did anyone notice if they (the tyres in general on the demo bikes)  were the basic compound of the "Gripton"??

I noticed the ones on the Levo that my son used were the Gripton ones, didn't notice on the Stumpjumper, but they felt ok. They were much better after I let a load of air out as they were pumped up pretty hard.

Any Evo's there to demo? I'd be interested in what people thought.

I didn't see any Evos all weekend. Even the pros that I saw on the ambassador ride outs that were riding Stumpjumpers were either standard or ST versions.

Yeah, I don't imagine we'll see pro's on them much. The EWS racers generally seem content on the slightly less extreme side of things.

Would have been nice to get some user feedback though!
