Off to Morzine this year and fancy a slightly rowdier bike than my venerable 2017 orange five.

Eyeing up a 2023 specialized status 160 but I'm 6'2 so don't know if I'd better of on an s4-nimble or s5-stable

So if anyone can shed any light on sizing and ride character please let me know.

Cheers DB

6'0 dead on here, on an S4, used to use my lads S3, but admittedly the S4 feels better.

I'm in Berks/FoD if that's any use to have a sit on it.

Cheers @weeksy do you think it's a good bike for Morzine/BPW terrain ?

Do you think I'd fit an s4 or be better off on an s5 @6'2?

I've read they're quite long bikes

The reach on the S4 i think is 489mm which with the stack is making it quite a 'big' Large.

The head angle of 63.5deg takes it right into perfect bikepark sort of spec as far as i can tell but i've not ridden it in anger yet fully at a proper place. I took our S3 to BPW and destroyed my PRs there which i've not managed to beat yet.

My Stumpjumper Evo in the low and slack set up is very similar to the Status 160, and just goads me to deathgrip down things.

For bike parks OP, as long as you didn't think that the S5 was going to be enormous on you, I'd be tempted to size up. MOAR FASTERER MAKES UP FOR LACK OF POPINESS.

If you were going to do some more nadgery tech then I'd stick with the S4.

Depends if you want a longer or shorter bike. I'm 5'10" on an s4 enduro and it's a good fit, i would happily ride an S3 but it would less suit the faster and rougher stuff for me.

I'd rather ride any other bike than an S5 Status. I'm 6' tall and tried an S4 first, then an S3 and the S3 was better balanced due to the short rear end. Easier to weight the front end as you are not balanced over the rear wheel. I bought the S3. I've ridden an S5 around a car park and it feels weird.

I'm 5'10" had an S3 till my daughter claimed it and now have an S4. I use it for uplift/push ups (BPW, 417, Rogate etc) . I don't notice any lack of pop or playfulness with the S4 but for me it feels more balanced at speed and on steep stuff.

Cheers all for the input, I've played it safe and gone for an s4, I saw some guys on pink bike who were 6'4-5 riding s4s and thought with the short chainstay an s5 might be a bit loose on the front.

Ta again

Congratulations. Beware on the chainstay paint if that sort of thing bothers you.

Cheers @weeksy I have some mastic tape I'll wrap around it and I think some helicopter tape in the garage somewhere.
