In some misguided (seeing I’ve still got long COVID) enthusiasm to do some bikepacking this year, I’m on the hunt for new shoes that I can walk in (have some lovely Mavic race shoes but my calfs really kill when pushing the bike). Old pair of specialized shoes ended up in the bin at Aviemore after last bikepacking trip.

Ideally I’d order the Specialized Rime 2.0, but can only find them at bikeinn for £141 and I really don’t want to be paying all the extra import taxes etc because they are £6 over the threshold. Specialized UK site doesn’t list them 🙁

Any other alternative suggestions for similar walking clipless shoe that is also comfortable to pedal distance, and that I can get in the UK?

Giro Berm is visually similar to the Rime. Not tried it myself though.

Gotta say though, the latest Shimano shoes look really good.

Shimano xc5. You've got to like laces though. I find mine very comfy

I had the first edition Rimes and wore them to shreds.
If I were looking for a similar shoe again then these Pearl Izumi X-ALP Elevates would be on my list.

Thanks all. I think those Pearl Izumi is definitely worth trying as they have proper tread on them. Only thing is some reviewers say the heal cup is a bit wide and I’ve got quite narrow ankles. However given I can get a pair in the UK, worth trying round the house.
