Just a quick Q, how do Pitches size up, would a medium cut it for someone 5'11?

Thanks

Depends ho you're going to use it.

If you're a totally xc person, saddle down all the time and just care about in the saddle comfort, large. A friend of similar height has one this size, says it's good for xc, but wishes he got smaller for anything technical.

If you're using for trail/all mtn and all day, need in saddle comfort but also get out the saddle for some good handling on the downs, medium will be perfect.

If you're using for DH/freeride, plus trail duties (we can't all afford a XC bike and a DH bike), enjoy a chuckable bike, in saddle comfort isn't #1 priority, small is working well just as myself and a couple of others your height have done.

There's a lot of friends of mine with pitches.

They're very long (in terms of wheelbase) but I reckon medium would be fine. Some people might even say a small. Depends how you want it to ride. I'm 6'1 and have a large.

I'm 6 foot, I went for a large after much deliberation but found it a bit long, with a 40 mm stem it was perfect. You are right on the edge between the sizes I reckon so definitely try before you buy

Good stuff guys, I am usually a more XC oriented rider but am hoping to get out to B.C. in April so want the bike for the north shore trails out there. Sounds like medium will be fine, could stick a layback post on if necessary.

Cheers

5'11" on a Medium, here. I find it a little short, but for a trail bike it's ace.

v666ern, thanks, I'm in Edinburgh though!

Have got mates who work in a shop but of course Specialized don't do the pitch anymore so I'd be trying a Stumpy evo or something similar. Its a second hand deal I'm looking at, got to research replacing pivots etc if needs be, hopefully not too £££.

5'11" 33" inside leg here. Had a medium Pitch for about 6months. It's got a silly long wheel base for a 17" framed bike and therefore was an absolute weapon at any really fast or technical DH, climbed well too, albeit slow an steady. But I started riding more and more xc on it and wanted to get places quicker and felt it just wasn't quick enough for me. Also saw a side on picture of me riding it and it looked like a BMX!
I never tried a large, but reckon that would have just been too long.

Longer stem would help out in the reach department though....I think
