I'm about to attempt to change the bearings on my 2015 Camber Evo. I've got the tools and the bearings but I can't work out how to remove the three bearings in the dropout pivot just above the bottom bracket.

The schematic (available here) shows the three bearings with a plastic tube between them. Should I attempt to drift the single bearing out, then remove the tube from that side, and then insert the removal tool to get the other two out?

Anyone done this before?!

Cheers!

I've done this when I had the 2014 camber. Can't remember exactly how but I must have used a blind bearing puller. Think I got a homemade one from ebay. I think it probably doesn't matter in what order. So long as you can get a punch through to your tool from the other side to tap it out. If you have a bearing tool with a slide hammer then I don't suppose it matters which side you do first.

This was certainly much easier than doing the ones in the swingarm which were a total nightmare.

Well, I gave it a go tonight. Both the sets of dropout pivot bearings refused to budge. By bottom bracket and the swingarm!

I was using a  sealed bearing removal tool (split collette type) but the bearings are so close together that I couldn't get behind them to pull them out.

I'm flummoxed.

You need a blind bearing puller. They expand in the bearing race and pull it out with friction.

My local Specialized dealer charged me £12 to do the 4 blind bearings on my Enduro.

Next time I will not be bothering doing the rest myself.

Yeah I'm using one of them too. It slips out.

Following finding this thread:

I'm going try Kae's solution:

I'll post up tomorrow....

this is the tool i used  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bearing-Remover-for-Bike-Hub-Wheel-Frame-Horst-Blind-Extractor-Puller-Tool/131982079526?hash=item1ebabeb626:m:mMlpkNwNMvj2ISURDexJB7Q

did the job fine, although required a fair amount of force with a hammer and punch.

Cheers Davros - I was using this one:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292484421224

I tightened it, whacked it, and it kept on flying out without the bearing attached!

If Kae's solution doesn't work, that is what I'll try next....

It might be worth soaking the area in penetrating oil and then getting some gentle heat into the metal surrounding the bearing (think heat gun, not blow torch!) before trying the puller again.

That wheels mfg looks better than the homemade style one of mine. If it's flying out it needs more tourque, more than you feel you should subject such a small tool!

Sorted! The Through Bolt from Screwfix did the job amazingly well. I just followed Kae's blurry video and they popped out. Shame I can't thank him 🙁 This is the type I used for my 6801 bearings with a 12mm inner diameter:

Another home mechanic job ticked off the list! I just need to work out wheel building and suspension servicing and I've got the full house!

Cheers for the help chaps.
