Ok so bike is a stumpy 2019 expert.

The only spec listed is it has specialized cartridge hubs. Ive spoken to specialized and they suggest it should be a DT swiss hub. This isnt the case.

Last night the bearings collapsed. I need to get this fixed today. Soooo
can anyone help witht he freehub. Ive picked up a couple of bearings this morning and im thinking its a DHT-1481 formula hub. Ideally id like to get a new freehub body (today). Well ideally id like it built onto a pro4 but time and cost is an issue.

so can anyone help with sorting out what ive actually got and where to get bits from?

cheers

ok bearings replaced but i am curious about the tightness of the axle.

it looks like that and is clamped on the freehub body. Im guessing that the freehud side should be tight and then the other side with 2 lock nuts just nipped up. I am however concerned about sideload on the bearings.

Hi Andy

Not sure if it is the same as mine (which I think is a DT "copy" with the drive ring that needs removing on the drive side to get to the bearings) but I just had bearings done by the LBS as I didn't have the tool to remove the ring (Spesh dealer) and the axle is fairly stiff to turn by fingers.

Not sure if that helps or not but I think you are describing the same (and I think correct) method of assembly as my hub.

Did you buy the bike new?
Take it back and ask them to sort it.
Mrs stu has just had a Pro4 hub as a foc replacement on her Stumpy Evo
I know the same shop have also replaced a few other Spech hubs with Pro4s all under warranty.

I'd try being more direct myself.😉
The standard rear hub really is a piece of shit.
