Hi
I'm just enquiring regarding sizing of the Diverge. I'm going to put a deposit down on the elite version in a size 61cm. I've read that the Diverge comes up small compared to the same size in other specialized bikes is this true? Have you had to choose a size up from your normal size?
I'm hoping not and it's a rubbish thread I was reading.
Any option for you to go and try one in person to make sure you get the right size?
i usually ride 56 in a Spec road/cross bike and i borrowed a 56 Diverge, it was spot on
surely a look at the geometry compared to other Spec bikes and any other bikes you're used to would allay your fears?
6'2" here and on a 58cm Diverge / XL 6Fattie. Each bought without trying based on the Spesh size charts and both are spot on for me. YMMV etc.
Same as JoB.
My allez was a 56cm. Now got a 56cm Diverge and spot on.
Have recently acquired a 56 Roubaix SL4 disc and feels same as the Diverge.
5'10" fwiw

5'6 so a 52 by the size chart, but riding a 54 based on being fitted by the shop (the 52 was in stock, but the 54 had to be ordered in, before anyone suspects foul play). Very comfortable it is, too - seems spot on. I borrowed a Trek (something or other) road bike on holiday, and tried a 54 initially - it was much too long and I ended up on a 52.
From memory, there are some odd steps in the Diverge sizing (i.e certain measurements don't change as much as the change in top tube size would suggest). Worth trying one if you can, or at least studying the geometry carefully.
Thanks guys. I've ordered it and will see.
Amedias ide love too but very rare you come across a shop stocking a 61cm in store. I've ordered and will try when it arrives.
Careful study of the geo sheets in order then with a bit of comparison to your existing bikes.
Dunno how big your local Spesh dealer is but a lot of places will order in a size for test if needs be, they should also be able to measure you up on a fitting jig or next size down/up if needs be and advise.
Hopefully the 61cm will be OK for you though, fingers crossed!
5'7 spesh size chart had me on 52cm was far too small ,swapped for 54 ,spot on, I would suggest trying in the shop
1 month ago I would have thought it odd to put a deposit on a bike that you've never even seen. I went to look at a Diverge and got them to check Specialized for stock levels. Turns out that XL Comp? (the sora one) had sold out before they were released.
My handy collection of bike frame stats suggests that they have quite alot of "stack" compared to most bikes (644mm in XL)
Also 5'7" and a 52cm Diverge.
6'2" on a 61 here. I've inverted the stem, and fitted 48cm handlebars, and it fits perfectly. The seatpin is almost at its maximum extension, so any smaller would not have fitted.
It's an incredible bike - justifies the hype. I rode mine around Morzine this year, fabulous. Enjoy.
The standard approach is to size them a little smaller than the norm, to allow for more post showing. The thinking is, more post = a little more flex = more comfy.
6' on a 56cm here.
I'm 5ft 11" and have a 56cm.
Perfect fit. Love the bike .

Flap_jack what's your inside leg measurements?
Do you mean seat post or seatpin?
35" trousers. Long arms too. Oldskool frames I always used 64cm/25". The Diverge sizes up v similar to an old 64 in reach, and rides almost exactly like my 1983 Record Ace, which is the highest praise possible.
Flap-jack thanks for replying. I'm just a 34 inch trouser so your torso must be shorter than mine if your only 6foot 2inches. By the sounds of it a 61cm is going to be perfect. Cheers.
