My Lev Integra is going back for a refund. Great dropper when it was working but this is its fourth death so I'm going to try something else.
I was pretty set on a GD Turbo LP in the 5" drop 31.6mm version, but saw the Command Post mentioned on a previous thread. Since it has an air valve I guess it has an air spring rather than the GDs metal spring? Is this likely to be more reliable than the hydraulic or oil filled innards of Levs, Reverbs, Thomsons etc... ? It's certainly a nice looking post and has the IR option.
Although I can't find any 31.6 command posts so would need a shim.
I already have a Southpaw lever so could use that with the GD rather than their fragile one.
Which should I go for do you reckon?
Happy with my 2 command posts. Been reliable for a couple of years. It's cable actuated so no reason your southpaw lever shouldn't work. I think they do a 31.6 but the 30.9 is definitely more common.
The Specialized website says there is a 31.6 but I can't find anyone selling it.
We are running Command posts on all our bikes of various ages and not had a problem with any of them. Picking up Abigales new bike tomorrow and will have a Command post on it.
With my LBS local club discount I think the Command Post IRCC would be cheaper than getting the GD direct, which I would have to do to get the version I want.
Got a command post.. no problems.. just cleaned etc. Great post.
Have two Spesh Comand post a 2011 one and a 2014 black lite one both work perfectly with the odd cable change for the remote ( much simpler than bleeding a reverb )
Not sure you will find anything other than 30.9 though
LBS have ordered one in for me, plus a £7 shim from USE, so I'll give this one a go. Had a play with one in the shop, I quite like the fast return and the definite clunk.
