Anyone point me in the direction of a HOPE or KING headset replacement for a 2015 Evo Camber.
Current headset is ****ed, bearing races appear to sit inside the tapered headtube without cups.
Can't find the definitive from HOPE and KING websites but I have emailed them.
Thoughts
Technically you could buy any 28.6 top cup and any 40 bottom one, you will only be using the bearings, top cap and crown race. The only restriction is the chamfer angle on the outside of the bearings to be 45 degrees (which it is on the Hopes, don't know about King).
In practice I found there are differences in the way the bearing sits in the frame - a Hope headset would result in a 2-3mm gap between the cap and the frame, while a Ritchey one would work perfectly (Ritchey frame, to be expected).
We used this guy to replace our Enduro headset bearings a couple of weeks ago. Rang him, explained what we needed and they were with us next day. Something to do with campy style?
