If you are like me tall 6ft 3.5inch bloke and your after a new hardtail bike. you will not find another bike that is more comfortable and better specced than a carve pro.
ive checked all the geometry out on other brands and apart from orange no one else comes near! i cant understand it.

if someone can prove me wrong then go ahead! im interested.

cheers

How exactly do we suggest we prove this? Perhaps some sort of "TopGear" inspired challange is in order?

I propose a race against a hot air balloon.

From London to Munich.

Except the hotair balloon will be filled from only the exhaled breaths of the lesser spotted chafinch, and will be forced to also carry a cargo of gorrilas that it must stop and pick up on the way there

(fairness IS important afterall..)

From your other posts looking for suggestions as to what hardtail to buy am I right in thinking that you have just sat on one of these.

To quote you from a couple of hours ago

i love the look and spec of the carve and sat on one yesterday at birmingham store.

You've started 5 posts in the last couple of days 3 of which seem to be promoting the Specialized Carve a bike you don't appear to have ridden. It all seems a bit odd to me. 🙂

Germany....if you are taking part in the London-Munich balloon/bike race then you'll probably find a stockist near your destination.

Avdave2 and stevede 😆

Obviously the OP is right - he's read up on the geometry of all other inferior bikes on t'internet and has concluded that the only bike he's actually sat on (not ridden, mind) is absolutely teh awesumz.

Therefore he must be right.

I really don't see what else could possibly be said on the subject. Everyone else is so obviously wrong.

Either that or (judging by the tone and grammar adopted) he gets completely trollied on Special Brew before posting.

I think you'll find if you read back through one of your many threads over the past 24hrs i actually gave you some sound advice, i was merely making fun of the fact that you've posted so many new threads when the one would have sufficed.
I'm 5'10 in my 5.10's and bow down to a man of such huge stature, you the man!
Bikes, well i have a 2011 Specialized Enduro and a Specialized Camber (soon to be replaced by a Stanton Slackline ti), not quite sure what this has to do with anything - i'm able to ride them both at my height as i bought them in medium grown up size (man i wish i was taller), i'm also not sure if your trolling or genuinely just a bit enthusiastic/lacking in a sense of humour/aggressive.
If you can't take a bit of banter then you may have joined the wrong forum!
Edit - and if you are a troll doing a late April fools then i take my pea sized hat off to you, very good 🙂

And just because I can't resist, I'm 6'4" and wouldn't ride that Specialised (probably any Specialised, other than my much-loved, and cruelly stolen, '92 Stumpy) if you paid me. Admittedly it's because I'm a sucker for boutique brands, but c'est la vie.

canyon strive, giant glory, sx trail, ribble sportive carbon roadie. and none of them have the seat the same height as the bars, how on earth have i managed to ride all these years.

Ok, I'll play. This is an honest answer.

I'm 6'2" and I ride a large Stumpjumper evo.

Now you tell me what I'm doing wrong.

And the OP appears to have overlooked the fact that the spec on his beloved £1,600 Specialised Carve Pro is almost exactly the same as my £1,100 Grand Canyon (only difference is elixir 5 vs elixir 3). Oh, but my Canyon has a 142x12 thru-axle on the rear too, whereas the Spesh doesn't.

Putting it in context, the equivalent (£1,500) Canyon comes with Fox FIT Terralogic forks, a full XT gruppo and Elixir 7 brakes. And you'd still have £100 in your pocket too.

So maybe it's not the best specced bike for that price.

Ooops.

You mean I can win the game of Mountain Bike by achieving the highest possible spec of bike?

All these years spent having fun when I was just wasting my time!

Yunki, that's all well and good, but I bet the geometry on that doesn't stand up to a paper-based comparison to the Spesh.

but are the bars the same height as the seat? this is the all important measurement when considering bike geometry as is sitting on the bike in a shop.

I was on the verge of buying the Carve until I saw the Trek Superfly Elite (aluminium one, it's the low down al version of their super top-end bike), which I bought 2 weeks ago. If I did my maths right, it's actually slightly lighter too, and the frame sizes are hugh, I am 5'8 and I had to get the 15" because I couldn't stand over the 17.
