I have a Camber Pro and I'm currently running 3x9 XTR. I have a M971 rear mech but when I go down the cassette the mech hits the frame.
What 3x9 mech are you running?
Would the M972 shadow long cage work ok?
Your thoughts would be welcome.
Cheers

Try shortening your chain by a couple of lengths.
Also make sure that the B tension screw is adjusted correctly, so that the top jockey wheel is sitting just below the sprockets, not on them/
B tension screw is as far as it can go.
I'm sure the chain is the correct length...
*bump*
Take it back and explain the issue, simples
Not really, I bought it as frame only.... 😉
You seem to be sure your chain is OK; but in a word of advice to anyone else reading this: Don't go shortening the chain unless you can positive that it needs it. Don't ever just 'take a couple of links out''. You can cause all kinds of grief by running a chain which is too short, especially on a suspension frame.
Whos_Daddy, does the mech hit the frame when you're in any of the front gears in particular?
The last couple of years of spesh full sussers (at least) have so much slack if you put them in small/small that a long cage mech can't take up the slack. Its all to allow for chain growth, so I can echo 3Fish.
Spesh's of previous generations have had the mech hit the frame too. Their solution was to put a rubber pad on the mech knuckle. Is this where yours is meeting?
EDIT.
Looking at the impact point, I think a shadow mech is likely to help. It'll put the body further back and lower down, which, if you're lucky, will give you the clearance you need.
Cheers all.
I guess I'll try a shadow mech. Anyone have a M972 they want to sell??
The mech hits when I'm in the bottom 3 gears on the cassette in any chainring.
The top (smallest) three Shirley? (just checking!)
the smallest cogs..
It's just one of those things that happens with Shimano mechs and 4-bar frames.
Spesh used to supply a little rubber bumper that zip-tied to the mech to cushion the knocking.
The best cure is a mech that doesn't pivot forewards at the cage, like SRAM. Don't the newer Shimano mechs also only pivot backwards as well??
My XTR mech came with a rubber section which you could remove. I don't have a Specialized Camber, so I'm afraid I cannot help.
