So my kids surprised me with a new Salsa Vaya frame and my intention is to swap over the drivetrain from my 2017 Cannondale caadx 105
Will the cranks from it fit the Vaya or do I need a set of 105 cranks

With the correct BB then why wouldn't it? They're both drop handled road groupset accepting frames.
I assume it's likely an FSA crank on the CAAD (you haven't said?) so just get the appropriate FSA BB?
Looks like it's a FSA Omega Cross, BB30, 46/36T on the Caad.
Can you get a FSA thread BB to fit that? I'm not sure you can.
To be honest FSA BBs are (in my expericence anyway) inferior to Shimano external units.
I would just get a 105 chainset and BB, you'll probably end up payiong about a ton for both.
