Hi all,

I've got a fairly nice pair of Decathlon B-Twin MTB shoes.

This is them:

I had SPD's on them- until last year, when an inability to get unclipped in time led to a nasty fall and a broken shoulder. Ouch.

I fully intend to go back to SPDs at some point, but for now I'm really enjoying riding around on flat shoes and pedals. (As an aside, my technique seems to be improving too.)

I'm using an ordinary pair of Salomon trail shoes just now, and they're nice, but I liked the stiffness of the B-Twin shoes. Plus they were easy to clean, and to adjust the fit, via the velcro straps.

Is there anywhere I can buy grippy blanking plates for the soles that would screw into the SPD mounting holes?

TIA-

cb

I can't help think you would be better off going back to Spuds now as you have the added traction advantage of summer to look forward to, it's slippery Autumn/Winter I'd worry about more if I were you.

Just loosen the tension in the springs much more, that's probably the reason you couldn't unclip.

Either that or consider some cheap skate shoes from the like of TK Maxx just to tide you over, which could also be used when it's Autumn/Winter.
