[Closed] SPD and flatty pedal ....

Does anyone do a good flat one side / spd the other side pedal.

Funn Mambas seem to be the only option .... but limited supply
Aren't Mallets clip in?

Funns look like the best option, but it's still the worst of both worlds. Something like the Mallets for emergencies and a little HTFU, as cliched as that is, is probably best.

Looking at the mallets ( presumably the 3s as they have pins)
But back to shimano for now ...

crank bros do a one sided spd. just got some on my escapade. they're good and not as heavy as mallets.

alpkit have a one sided spd as well but i havent tried that as all my other pedals are crank bros.

Shimano 'touring' pedals have worked well for me, SPD one side, flat the other.

I'd say choose one and stick with it. The problem with those flat one side spd the other pedals, is that often the side you want is facing down and therefore you either stick with the wrong side or you're faffing trying to rotate the pedal. With most of these, the flat side isn't like a proper flat pedal and your shoes won't be the grippy flat soled versions either.

The SPD side is like normal. The flat side is fine for normal use, but it's nowhere near grippy enough for MTB use, no pins so no real grip. It's fine for local pottering and oddjobs

I think these would be good if used with the correct shoes.

Mallet dh and some decent shoes, enough for a bail but a great platform pedal. But just learn to clip in and out then commit. For reference Claudio did his rampage preview clipped...
