Can anybody recommend a MTB holiday in Spain which offers a no climbing option. It's not that we're downhill only or unfit but we (strangely) don't take any pleasure in climbing.

Spose you'd need to speak to them to check that they would cater for your allergy to gaining height under your own steam, but my abiding memories of holidays with both www.freeridespain.com and www.sierracycling.com are that they took you to the top of the hill/mountain/sierra in Andalucia in a minibus and guided you back down to the bottom of it on your bike. No significant climbing involved if you didn't want it.

I think you should be looking for a holiday in Holland.

Indeed, why even bother with Holland.
Simply hire out the escalator at your local Tesco's for a week. 😀

Mountain Biking Spain have a 4 wheel drive 700cc quad with a bike rack on the back. Please tell me a better way to get to the top.

PS They have a truck too.

Whats so bad about limited climbing and maximum descending? Have to climb all year round, week off suits me fine. Climbing sucks at the best of times. I'm on holiday.

Descend all day - wheeeeeeeeee!!
Loads of guests ride all mountain type bikes - DH bike not necessary.

You mean for the all mountain holidays.
The DH is DH (baby)

The reason you have to climb in Bubion is you can't uplift on the best trails and if you think they're making you work hard you should try it without the van ride in the morning and picking you up from the bar in the afternoon - you really realise how much climbing is cut out when you ride round there solo.

Yeah… come over to Malaga, sit by the pool then ride your own uplift van all day (if you can handle it), just don't expect raked and preened super-slick alpine trail centre (sorry 'bike park') trails; It's natural and it's all full Gnar. My mates are coming to stay with me in a few weeks and we'll be riding 6 inchers (bikes that is).

Give Michael at SwitchBacks a bell and if you have any q's please ask!

Or if you fancy the Italian riviera and maritime alps look up rivierabike or its DH/FR sister site rivierafreeride

15 min shuttle uplifts with 1hr plus descents...

There will be a couple of articles in dirt coming up next month..

I highly recommend sierra cyclings routes, a friend lives in Feungirola and we had an uplift to the TV/ radio masts on the mountain behind Mijas, rode all the way back to the beach, it was awesome!!!

It would be worth speaking to Doug at Basque MTB he always drove us to the top of the hill to start.

fwiw, it might be good having a short ride at the start to warm up & get your head in gear for riding?
Even if it's only 5k on the flat.
Just a thought.
