Looking for a biking holiday in Spain for myself and girlfriend. I like fast, technical singletrack, not bothered about stuff that you would need a downhill bike for but do like drops, jumps and the like. She likes flowing single track with wheels largely on the ground and can ride pretty much any red graded trail centre route without much fuss.

Any recommendations?

Cheers,

P

Me and Mark went out for the feature in issue 54. I was genuinely very impressed by the quality of the trails on offer and the variety. Everything from rocky rooty gnadgery to flowing sea shore trail. What particularly impressed me was how Doug is able to tailor the riding to different skill sets. I'd known Doug for several years prior to him starting up so I think it's fair to say I was even more critical than I would have been as a normal punter off the street.

The food, trails and accommodation were all excellent. I plan to go back as a paying guest.

Hope this helps?

Cheers

Sanny

PS If you are a premier user, there was a feature online with lots of pics from the trip which may be of interest?

We went out with Freeride Spain last year. You have to be prepared to do some climbing, but the singletrack is amazing and Simon, Emma and Lee were great hosts / guides. their all inclusive prices are amazing too, especially if you're a member of Singletraction. If you're not, then the 10% saving would be a great excuse to become one!

Mogrim, is that for the Road champs in June? I'll probably not be heading over, hopefully I'll be working 🙂 I'll see the San Sebastian Classica and the Vuelta al Pais Vasco is always good too. I've got some singletrack that goes the same route as one of the descents normally used in both those races so plan to try and race the pack down!

Be good to see you in Pais Basco!

Hey mogrim, I've been tempted by the Soplao. So, if you want some company (and a ride/stop off round Bilbao) let me know.

Mackem, I'm already signed up for it... If you fancy meeting up, give us a shout.

Doug, it's the link Mackem's posted. 160km MTB, although there's also an ultramarathon and a road event.
