I just wanted to say thank you to the Salisbury Plain Area Mountain Biking club who organised the ride on Salisbury plain, including obtaining permission to ride through Imber village from the MOD.

I don't often do organised rides, but this one appealed as I linked it up to a 90 mile ride and an overnight spot of camping the night before to add to the fun for me.

I think the majority of riders did the 50km route; it was well staffed with happy marshals and was well signposted, had some fun slippy downhill bits, some slippy uphill bits and well, it was a fun event.
The only downside was that the burger van was not selling Spam.
It did do a good egg bacon and egg burger though.

Rob,

A really great, low key but well organised event.

Where you the bloke with the bike packing kit?

It was great to see this event up and running again after the trouble they have had getting on the land.

I was that dumbass camping the night before, Dogsby - it was pretty damp camping, but still fun. I rode round with a pal and we both came away saying we should do more fun events like this.
Its all good preparation for the ATR next June.

+1 on a good event, was talked into it by a mate who doesn't normally do any distance riding! We were the pair bringing up the back of the 50K riders, as in they were removing the markers as we passed them 😆

Some good, fun sections. Hope to get to the next one and see how fast I can actually do it 😀
