Anyone else heading up to Black park tomorrow for round 1?

My lad is doing the under-9s race, and I have decided to take the big step up from fun to open! I am even considering wearing lycra so i don't stand out in my baggies and t-shirt 😀

I will be the slightly rotund, red faced bloke sweating at the back 😀

A sign of my commitment, it is my 43rd Birthday today and I am not drinking!

I'll be there with my 10 year old daughter who's entering her first race. My 8 year old was going to too but has been asked to play in a rugby tournament and has chosen that. I was half tempted but had a big morning at Aston Hill today and feel pretty knackered. I'll be on the yellow Bronson wearing baggies if you want to say hello!

Hmmm, my first 5 lap race - 30th and it felt like a bit of a brutal kicking. I definitely need to do some work if I want to stick with the vets. Last 2 laps felt like a solo time-trial with my legs slowly falling off.

If I can't get more riding/training time in, then I reckon I'll go open for the southerns and stick with vet for the gorricks- as i'll get a better race that way.

Still a great morning out and well done to Adam and his team for taking the Southerns on. Good job.

What I want to know is how I was lapping at 21-22mins per lap.

Then how the 'jeffers don you take 5mins out of that per lap!!! on what was a tight course... and then do 6 laps...!!!

Some people are superhuman..

tight and bumpy too. Yeah - tough to get loads more speed out of it for me. Legs, arms, and back all felt wrecked at the end.
