You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
In a moment of insanity I've talked myself into doing the southern upland way this year. Self supported bikepack trip. I should say I have adapted the route a little to avoid the cliff path at the Portpatrick end and I've removed a couple of shortish painful boggy sections. Other than that I'm taking in all the peaks and major off road sections. I'm doing it on a 29inch hardtail. Currently running some fast rolling 2.4 inch wtb rangers tubeless. They are fine on road, fire road, trail centre (on a dry day) but a bit sketchy on anything technical and useless in bog. Advice for a relatively light but grippy tyre that can run tubeless and cope with the mix of road, forest road, singletrack and bog. If I'd been doing this 15 years ago I think I'd have known what to use but I'm a bit out of the loop these days.
