Was thinking of doing it next year. Anybody done it? Is it worth doing?
Thinking of about 4 days supported ie somebody at the end of each leg rather than carrying all kit but not exactly round every corner during the day.

Choose your weather , its largely wetter than an otters pocket that trail.

Done parts of it, St Marys Loch to Duns, its fun but pick your weather as its well exposed.

St Marys to Inners - fast and easy around the Loch and then a long, long climb out to a long fast descent.

Inners to Yair - long climb up Minch, then ridge until 3 Brethern and cracking descent to Yair

Yair to Melrose - steep climb, fast descent and then easy

Melrose to Lauder - long climb then high drove road

Lauder to Black Hill - exposed uplands, with little else (cafe at Loch in summer)

Takes you right past cracking trails. Seems a shame to just ride on past them. Why not take a little longer and include some detours?

Do you live in your name? Im a few villages along and have a guidebook map thing you could borrow to do some research on the route...

I meant to do it last winter on winter weeks hols using the fatty bike (wetness problem solved) and bothys with a B&B in Lauder the last night (cold/wetness/no midge being winter option) but never got around to it.
Maybe this winter...

Did it all in 1992 getting train to Stranraer from Edinburgh on a hard as hell Cannondale with 1.9 tyres and it was miserable 😆
soft trails, midges, poured with rain between the Midge sortes, overloaded bike with camping gear... it took 6 hard days... i was knackered, stinking, and unwashed... amazing weeks cycling

Proper mountainbiking! 😀

Couldn't possibly reply DB but very close. Where are you? Ping me an email if you prefer.
CK sounds epic. So you fancy doing it again. I do have a holiday in October although I thought I would need the longer days of May or June.

Its a swamp with a footpath going through it.

Covered with tussocks making for a good walk with the bike..

Moffat to Inners is probably the best bit....

Or maybe I got it on a bad day...
