Sounded good until I looked up where twisted oaks is, is it in the flemish, French or German speaking bit of Belgium?

It'll be a laugh, hotel and beer the night before. Try not to die on the day. Epic

Been to Twisted Oaks once and loved the place but mash up type events are not for me since ebikes became so popular. I just spend too much time being overtaken on the climbs then stood in a bloody great queue. I know, I’m a misery 🙁

No. Not with the transitions clogged up with analogue riders.
I prefer the ebike only pedalhounds events.

Twisted Oaks is great fun but I can't imagine an enduro there

I think I might go as a friend has signed up

considering entering my 2 eldest (10 & 12yrs) it would be their first race, never been there though

theyve ridden xc at woburn, swinley etc, but never a bike park, how gnar is it?

I prefer the ebike only pedalhounds events.

I am hoping Paul decides it is worth seperating the 2 bike groups across the different events now he has the Eeb specific races

The park has progressive jump lines, and drops plus trails through the woods with various features. I don’t know what the runs will be for Southern Enduro but expect it to be totally beginner friendly with B lines for those that don’t fancy the A line. It will not be like any other enduro event, possibly 90% carpeted. Yes, actual carpet 😀

@kimbers let them have a watch of this from a previous event

Knowing the principle behind Southern Enduro mash ups what Rubber says is accurate. They are set up to suit a wide range of race experience and not to kill anyone.

I still get nervous even on the run-up to the event.

I think i'm going to head over Sat morning for a pre-race taster and see, hopefully they'll have some/all of the courses marked out. Not that it'll make much difference to where i end up... but it'll be a fun little ride anyway

Went over yesterday to ride and learn. Wow it's a daunting place! Lots of arse clenching jumps, drops etc. But we muddled our way down most bits with the odds avoidance of instant death parts.

A meal and beer, with plenty of laughs, chats and banter, then early to bed after Rocky2.

This morning brought race fun and a few sections taped differently from yesterday. The death parts were still deathy and it disappointed me I couldn't do some

The good news is, I wasn't last. First time in a Southern Enduro of not being last.

I'm 235

The bad news, Couchie beat me!!!!

Over 12 stages he beat me by 12s.

I'll be back next time to take him on again.

Was it your first time at TO then? There are a lot of big and daunting looking jumps but they're really well built so they're mostly fairly easy, you just need to find someone to follow to get your speed right.

Yeah mate, first time, it's miles away, but having been there, I think we'll go again for a day or two

It's a good laugh, they manage to make a very short run very enjoyable, you can have loads of runs in a day without really breaking sweat
