Anyone got any experience of riding this, in the Charmouth area? How navigable is it in terms of gates, stiles and other non-bike friendly gubbins?

Thanks in advance for replies

Hi Lucien,

This will absolutely no use to you whatsoever, but about 7 years ago I had the chance to do a stretch of the SWCR. I caught the train to Plymouth, then my plan was to cycle to Mevagissey. I then found the track which was along the cliff edge, and impossible to cycle, me not being Danny Macaskil.

I decided to road - cycle the majority of the way instead. Still had good fun though, passing Looe, Polperro and Fowey. As I said no use to you, but enjoy yourself anyway.

Agreed cheeky, hence the question about non-bike friendly gates etc - maybe I'll stick with something else locally, just looked steep on the map!

More dangerous than cheeky imo. In some places it's very steep, narrow, huge cliff-top drops to ground level. It could be a disaster waiting to happen if you meet someone unexpectedly, on this footpath. Ride somewhere else, please.

Ogd - a bit forthright in your view there? Ride where I want to if it's all the same to you......

...and endanger other people as you please? Well done. I don't GAS where you ride to endanger yourself, but can't you see that you'd potentially be putting other people in jeopardy?

@lucien - you have no right to get stroppy. You are posting questions on the internet about riding on footpaths, highly sensitive often narrow footpaths subject to cliff erosion
