You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hello, I am planning on doing the South Peaks Loop (Clickkkkkkk )over two days soon before the school holidays start for a gentle bikepacking trip. I know there are plenty of campsite options, but has anyone got any experience of bivvying in that area? I know it might be tricky as it is quite popular.
Don't need you to divulge precise coordinates, but some subtle hints would be very much appreciated.

I did it a few years ago. I did it as a night ride so couldn't see that well into the periphery but have revisited the spots below layer, just walking not camping. I'm guessing there are quite a few places by the river Manifold after Hulme End. Other option is just south of Milldale near the river Dove. Assume your starting in Bakewell, which makes one of those options roughly half way.
Usual things: arrive late, leave early, leave no trace. If you can't see house lights from where you intend to bivy then it's unlikely that anyone will see you. At this time of year with trees and hedges in full foliage it's not too hard to find somewhere "hidden" even very close to a road. Just behind a wall can be enough.
